Terms of Service

Welcome to React Aligarh, a proof-of-work learning and project-driven platform built for students, developers, and builders at all levels. By accessing or using React Aligarh's platform, website, or any associated community spaces, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act 2000, the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules 2021 and 2025, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, and the Indian Contract Act 1872. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India.

React Aligarh is open to students at all levels school, college, and beyond and to working professionals.

• If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must review these Terms and consent to your participation before you register.
• If you are under 13, you must not register or submit any personal data.
• You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering.
• Your account is personal and must not be shared with or transferred to another person.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

You may register using:

• Email address and password OTP email verification required
• GitHub OAuth
• LinkedIn OAuth

For OAuth registration, we receive your provider ID, username, avatar, email, and access token. See Privacy Policy Section 4.2 for full details.

• Structured 30-day learning roadmap across technical domains and subdomains
• Skill-level assessments (timed, anti-cheat monitored)
• Skill-matched project assignments with mentor guidance and curated resources from the internet
• Project submission and public proof-of-work showcase
• Public portfolio profile with contribution tracking and badges
• Mentorship assigned after Member status and assessment completion
• Knowledge base, help center, and support ticketing
• Community blog, changelog, and feedback board

React Aligarh is a community initiative within the Geeta Systems ecosystem, which includes platforms such as BtoE (btoe.in), VyomRachna, and others that will be launched in the future.

• You may optionally link your React Aligarh account with other Geeta Systems platforms for a unified experience.
• A shared login system ('Continue with Geeta Systems') will allow you to access any connected platform with one account you must actively choose to use this.
• Linking accounts is always opt-in. You can unlink at any time from your account settings.
• When accounts are linked, basic profile data (name, email, username) is shared between the linked platforms.
• With your explicit consent, Geeta Systems may send marketing communications about other platforms or community events across the ecosystem.
• You can manage all cross-platform permissions and marketing preferences from your notification and privacy settings.

To maintain the integrity of the assessment system, we collect a device fingerprint at signup and enrollment. This is used exclusively to detect multiple accounts and prevent cheating. See Privacy Policy Section 4.4 for what is collected.

• By registering, you consent to device fingerprint collection for assessment security purposes.
• Attempting to spoof, manipulate, or circumvent the fingerprinting system is a violation of these Terms.
• Assessment sessions are monitored via a real-time anti-cheat WebSocket connection.
• Using AI tools, external resources, or receiving assistance during a timed assessment is strictly prohibited.
• Violations may result in immediate account termination and credential revocation.

You agree to:

• Use the platform respectfully and professionally
• Communicate constructively critique ideas, not people
• Give proper credit when referencing others' work, code, or ideas
• Report issues, bugs, or inappropriate behaviour through appropriate channels
• Maintain honest and transparent communication with community members and team

You must NOT:

• Post harmful, abusive, offensive, defamatory, or illegal content
• Submit plagiarised work as your own
• Use AI tools to generate assessment answers or full project submissions without disclosure
• Misuse or abuse community resources, tools, or platforms
• Impersonate any person, member, mentor, or team representative
• Engage in spamming, phishing, or any form of digital abuse
• Attempt unauthorised access to any part of the platform or its infrastructure
• Scrape or harvest platform data without written permission
• Threaten the unity, integrity, security, or sovereignty of India

• You retain full ownership of all projects, code, designs, and content you create.
• React Aligarh does not claim ownership of any user-generated content.
• By submitting a project for review, you confirm it is substantially your own work.
• AI assistance that made a significant contribution must be disclosed in your submission notes undisclosed AI generation is treated as plagiarism.
• Approved projects are published to your public profile and visible to anyone.
• By publicly sharing your work, you grant React Aligarh a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to feature and showcase your work for community and promotional purposes with proper credit to you.
• You may request removal of a published project by contacting support.

Every registered user has a public profile visible to anyone. It shows:

• Name, username, and profile avatar
• Skills and domain interests
• Approved project submissions
• Badges and contribution activity

Phone number, city, organisation, and enrollment form responses are never shown publicly. You may request removal of specific profile content via support.

• Mentors are assigned after you achieve Member status and complete the assessment.
• Your mentor can see your public profile and the specific project you are working on together nothing else.
• Mentor guidance is provided voluntarily React Aligarh does not guarantee availability, response time, or specific outcomes.
• Mentorship is a non-commercial service role within the community.

React Aligarh is committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all members, regardless of background, skill level, or identity.

We have zero tolerance for:

• Harassment, bullying, or intimidation of any kind
• Discrimination based on gender, religion, caste, ethnicity, nationality, disability, or any other characteristic
• Targeted personal attacks, threats, or hostile language
• Sharing or distributing explicit, violent, or disturbing content
• Doxxing sharing private information of another person without consent

• The React Aligarh name, logo, branding, roadmaps, and platform content belong to the React Aligarh community initiative.
• You may not use our logo, name, or brand identity for commercial purposes without written permission.
• Educational sharing, attribution, and non-commercial references (e.g., mentioning RA on a resume or blog) are permitted and encouraged.
• All original tutorials, roadmaps, and platform content created by the React Aligarh team are protected and may not be reproduced without credit.

React Aligarh is an 'intermediary' under Section 2(1)(w) of the IT Act 2000 and a 'social media intermediary' under the IT Rules 2021. We are not the author or publisher of third-party content posted by users. We will act on lawful takedown notices within 36 hours as required under the IT Amendment Rules 2025.

• React Aligarh does not guarantee employment, job placement, income, or any specific professional outcome as a result of participation.
• The platform is provided 'as is' without warranties of any kind, expressed or implied.
• React Aligarh is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from use or misuse of the platform.
• Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.
• Links to external resources are provided for convenience we are not responsible for their content or availability.

• We may suspend, restrict, or permanently remove any account that violates these Terms, the Code of Conduct, or on receipt of a lawful legal order.
• Termination may occur with or without prior warning depending on the severity of the violation.
• You may delete your own account at any time from Settings. Personal data is deleted within 30 days.
• Credentials already issued remain verifiable via an anonymised record after account deletion.
• Appeals against termination must be submitted within 14 days to legal@reactaligarh.com.

• Material changes will be notified via email and in-app notification at least 14 days before taking effect
• The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the latest revision
• Continued use of the platform after changes are published constitutes acceptance
• If you disagree with any updates, you may discontinue use and request account deletion
